Charter School Needs

Charter schools are not private schools and they do not charge tuition for students to attend. Charter schools' funding comes from the same funding that the typical public schools do, although they do seem to get much less than the surrounding local schools. For this reason, charter schools have to find additional sources of funding to even operate on a daily basis, much less the costs of building and set-up in the beginning.

The biggest expense in starting a charter school is often the building; this is why charter schools are often found in school buildings that are not being used, library facilities and other public facilities that can be outfitted to accommodate a school situation. By doing this, the money needed to build a structure is eliminated and funding that is gained can be spent on resources, operation and upkeep costs as well as salaries for staff members.
