School grants are an important part of funding for many schools, whether public, private or charter schools. Money is an ever-present need to keep schools running and to provide students with what they need to succeed. Grants can be federal, state or foundation grants, and most schools apply for a combination of all three. These grants can be of a general nature, such as school improvement grants, or they can be more specific, such as technology or library school grants.
When preparing to apply for school grants, it is important to find out the parameters that are set in place by the grantor before completing the proposal. A grant proposal that does not meet the potential funder's guidelines is a waste of everyone's valuable time. Some detailed research into the specifics and viewing of some examples can show what each particular grant donor expects of their applicants.
